Greetings from the Windy City! AAPS is thrilled to be in Chicago. And it’s a first for us… the first time we’ve held our Annual Meeting and Exposition here.
From October 14th and 18th, McCormick Place will host the world’s largest gathering of pharmaceutical scientists, as they meet and re-connect with colleagues from around the globe and learn more about breakthrough research and technologies.
This year’s meeting will feature the perfect formulation of activities, including a variety of informative and enlightening workshops, short courses, open forums, seminars, symposia and guest speaker presentations.
We are delighted to have as this year’s keynote speaker Rebecca Skloot, author of The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. Skloot spent more than a decade researching and writing her best-selling book, which follows the story of Henrietta Lacks, the source of the groundbreaking HeLa cells, which became invaluable to novel medical research but were taken without permission.
This year’s program also features presentations by a range of plenary speakers. Michael V. Ciminera worked for the Northrop Grumman Corporate and the Grumman Aerospace Corporation for more than 50 years while Mike Maddock, an entrepreneur and “idea monkey” who established Maddock Douglas Inc., an innovation company that enable leading companies to develop and launch new products Salim Ismail spent the last three years building Singularity University, a nonprofit learning institution, and serves on the board of Breakthrough, a global human rights organization.
Please stay tuned as we continue to post updates about all of the exciting happenings at this year’s AAPS Annual Meeting and Exposition.
